Hasan was my classmate when I studied in MAN Model Bangkalan. He stayed in the Islamic Boarding School, Pangeranan village in Bangkalan town. At that time, I spent the night
First time, when I asked Hasan to take me home, he did not pass through the main road because he still wanted to take his aunt money in the ATM of BNI bank near by the police station. So, he did not take me home directly. At the time, we did not wear the helmet because in the morning usually there was no police and Hasan was sure there was no anything happened to us. But actually Hasan felt a bit of worried about the police, so he decided to pass on Jl. Terminal Lama at Mlajah Village far from the main road.
We took a longer time to go to ATM of BNI bank because Hasan passed through the small road. The BNI bank is located on the right side of the west of main road on Jl. Soekarno-Hatta near to the police station. When we arrived near to the ATM, Hasan passed the wrong road and broke the road signals. We also forgot to check the situation first before crossing the road whether the police was there or not. Without being realized, obviously, one of the policemen looked at us from the police station. Because Hasan and I did not realize it, when Hasan parked his motorcycle in front of the ATM box, suddenly a policeman came and took the key of motorcycle.
After several minutes later, the police brought us to the police station to be asked more questions. The police explained us that Hasan had broken the traffic signs by passing the wrong way and did not wearing the helmet. Something that made Hasan more afraid that his motorcycle was illegal. When the police asked his STNK and driving license Hasan and I could not answer anything. To take the motorcycle, we tried to persuade the police to give fifty thousand rupiah, but he refused. The police asked us five hundred thousand to give Hasan’s motorcycle. Hasan did not have enough money to pay that. He actually borrowed his aunt’s money to pay the fine.
Actually, the police decided not to give the motorcycle. He gave Hasan a traffic letter and suggested him to take his motorcycle in the court. We were frustration with the police decision because we were not sure could get the motorcycle anymore. Suddenly, my uncle’s friend passed in front of the police station and looked at us there. His name is Pak Bambang. He by chance wanted to go to market. Then Hasan and I told him that we got a traffic ticket. He would like to help us to take Hasan’s motorcycle in the court. After that we went home and waited for the motorcycle in the following day.
In the following day, Pak Bambang could handle that case easily because he had a friend of police and knew him well. So, event though Hasan’s motorcycle was illegal, it could be handled without any problem. But Pak Bambang had to pay three hundred thousand rupiah to put out the motorcycle from the court. It was at about 11.00 Pak Bambang had taken the motorcycle from the court and put it in his home. And then called Hasan to take his motorcycle in his home. Hasan felt very happy because he could use his motorcycle again. Since that time, Hasan always obeyed the rule of traffic signs.
