On Friday afternoon, it was at about 17.15 pm. A tall boy was going home from practicing football, his name is Paul Jordan. He was my classmate. At the time,Jordan was in
the second grade of senior high school. He joined the football selection of Perseba Bangkalan.When Jordan arrived at his boarding house, he looked tired very much.But he didn’t take a rest because a few minutes later magrib prayer would come.After he prayed magrib, suddenly his cellphone was ringing. He got a call from his friend. “Assalamualaikum!” his female friend greeted him on the phone. She is Fitria Handayani, his classmate. He answered her greeting calmly. His friend said that on the next day would be held an English Empower program at his teachers English course. Fitria said that the committee was lack of board to be a guide in that program. So that way, she invited and suggested him to prepare himself as a guide. He decided to join even though he was a bit of busy with his other activities.
The English Empower program was held on Saturday till Sunday, 27-28 October 2007. The program was opened by the head master of MAN Bangkalan at 15.00 pm. in his school hall. The program was held in his school yard. All students were eager in joining the program. There were 12 group coming from different school in Bangkalan such as SMAN 1 till 3 Bangkalan, SKMN 1 Bangkalan, and also from SMA Muhammadiyah. At the time he handled the group three.From 12 group, for each group consisted of 5 students. There were five kinds of tests in each post, such as vocabulary, reading, speaking,writing, and game. All students had to compete to learn and show their best ability after getting the matter from the teachers.
In the Saturday night, the training began again. There were five post around the school which was in each post was kept by one teacher. The first post was vocabulary test, the second post was reading test, the third post was speaking test, the fourth was writing test and the last post was game. The teacher in every post gave the training first how to learn English easily. Then the students were given a test one by one. All students had to be active to get much scores.
In the Sunday morning, when Jordan gave the guidance, there was a student who got attention of him. Her name is Siska. She came from SMKN 2. She is a cute and beautiful girl he thought. But unfortunately, she had a naughty and spoiled behavior. When there was a art performance, he chose her to represent her group to perform her English skill on the stage. Her friends and he asked her many times but she pretended to get stomachache and directly went to the bathroom. After she came back, Obviously she was crying. Jordan caressed her tears romantically. He felt regret very much because made her crying. A few minute later, Jordan apologized to her but she looked don’t care anymore.
It was at about 09.00 am., the committee exchanged the group each other. Siska, the student who had ever cried because of him, moved to the other group. The last test was given by the committee. All students looked serious in doing their test. It was a writing test. After all students did the writing test, Siska called him and she took his phone number. Besides, she also took picture together with Jordan. Siska looked glad and stared at Jordan’s face deeply. As if there was something different with her. Suddenly, Siska said,” Jordan, actually I am in love at the first sight.” Jordan was only kept quiet and could not say anything. Jordan didn’t realize and had never thought it before. Siska immediately ran away from Jordan’s side. Even though Siska liked Jordan secretly, they did not have special relation because they were forced to separate. They never got in touch anymore since they were in long distance. Everything had gone by. Now, Jordan only has a sweet memory in the past.
